Sigma Corp. has announced that its mid range zoom—the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM/ Art—will be available starting April 22, 2016 at a suggested list price of 155,000 Yen.
This lens is constructed with 21 elements in 15 groups. It uses three FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, one SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element, one high-refractive index, and high-dispersion glass element The Sigma S0-100mmf/1.8 DC HSM/ Art lens's hyper sonic motor is 30% slimmer and offers quick and accurate autofocus. This lens will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts.
Sigma also stated that its other lens for the Contemporary line-up—30mmf/1.4DC DN—is expected to ship mid-march and will be available for $339. The lens is constructed with 9 elements in 7 groups. It uses one aspherical element and one double-sided aspherical element. The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens will be available in Sony E-Mount and Micro Four Thirds mount.
The company also announced that the availability and pricing of its mount converter, MC-11, will be confirmed. This accessory is for Sony E-mount, full-frame and APS-C size sensor cameras. The MC-ll's internal data control system maintains continuity with key camera functions that control brightness, correct transverse chromatic aberration, distortion etc.
Compatibility with Sigma lens OS and Sony in-camera OS ensures correction of camera shake when used with in-camera stabilisation. The MC-11 enables angle shake correction in the lens.
